National Volunteer Week
Town of Whitecourt -Longtime Achievement Award

Award Info taken from Town of Whitecourt:

National Volunteer Week is a time to celebrate the work of volunteers in Whitecourt and Canada for the time and energy they contribute to causes that benefit our communities. This year the Town of Whitecourt launched the Volunteer Award Program which includes five different award categories. We are pleased to announce that the 2021 Longstanding Achievement Award has been awarded to Dan Guenette.

Dan has been involved in the Whitecourt Trailblazers Club for over (25+) years; he began volunteering by cleaning trails, and has been a board member since 2000. Dan takes pride in his ability to advance the Club, and was instrumental in securing the purchase of the trail grooming equipment, creating warming cabins, and developing over 200 kilometres of trail for the enjoyment of Whitecourt and surrounding communities. In addition, Dan has volunteered with the Alberta and Canadian Snowmobile Associations, keeping our local Club in the forefront with technology and fundraising. As a community we know the benefits of recreation, and it’s because of Dan’s efforts that snowmobilers throughout our region can safely take part in this family activity.
