We are excited to announce the 2012 Whitecourt Trailblazer Poker Rally will be taking place February 18 & 19th! North & South routes to be finalized at Wednesday’s meeting. Be sure to attend as there is lots to decide, do and organize. More information to come and updates will also be posted on our website.
Summit Trail from Town to Shelter is groomed and back around Goodwin Lake loop to town. There are some big trees to cut along that loop so use caution until volunteers can get out there. If you have a saw, feel free to help out and then let Trailblazers know.
Conditions still look favorable for the Big Rally!
Groomer completed trail toward Swan Hills to letter O and back this week. Also, the Carson Trail and south of Carson Shelter all the way to town.
Alberta Primetime attended our Media Ride and will be airing a feature story on our club on Tuesday, February 7th @7pm MST on CTV Two Alberta. Don’t miss it!
The Golden Triangle Trail from the Carson Shelter north to Letter O was cleaned again on Feb 4th and 5th. Several hours of log cutting. Groomer is planning to head toward Letter O (halfway to Swan Hills) on Monday.
Trails north of Athabasca are in good condition. Trails southwest to Summit are rough as groomer will be out there this week.
Trailblazer’s monthly meeting has been moved to Wednesday, February 15th. Still at the Legion downstairs. Everyone is welcome. Meeting at 7:30pm.
Since the groundhog saw his shadow, we should have 6 more weeks of sledding…er, winter. Groomer has been out leaving from Eagle River Staging Area and grooming west to Gundy Rest Area and then south to Highway 43 on the Manweiler Trail this week. Trails to Carson Shelter and Athabasca Lookout were also groomed again this week. Those trails are in good condition. Warm weather still causing problems with river and creek crossings so use extreme caution.
Poker Rally is still planned for Feb 18 and 19.
