WHITECOURT SNOWMOBILE PARADE

FRIDAY FEBRUARY 14

The Town of Whitecourt is hosting the Snowmobile Parade where organizers plan to set a new WORLD RECORD for the largest number of snowmobiles riding in a parade. The current World Record, as recorded by Guiness Book of World Records is 1047 snowmobiles set by the Whitecourt Trailblazers in 2015.

Don’t miss the opportunity to participate in this one of a kind event. Antique sleds (that run) are welcome and encouraged.

COST:
FREE to participate or be a spectator

VENUE:
Throughout Whitecourt | Begins/Ends at CANADIAN TIRE WELCOME CENTRE Seniors Circle, 5212-50th Street, Downtown Whitecourt

TIME:
Event Time: 6pm-8:30pm
Registration: 3pm-6pm Please fill out registration forms prior to staging for the parade.

The parade route will start at the CANADIAN TIRE WELCOME CENTRE. The ride is expected to last approximately 1 hour.

REGISTRATION DETAILS:
All participant registration will take place outside at the CANADIAN TIRE WELCOME CENTRE from 3pm – 6pm. Ride your snowmobile towards the CANADIAN TIRE WELCOME CENTRE and volunteers will direct you into a staging lane. Stay on your snowmobile and registration officials will come to you to complete your registration. Once you have received your participant number you can leave your snowmobile and head into the CANADIAN TIRE WELCOME CENTRE for a pre-parade social.

After the parade, walk downtown (1 block south) to attend the FREE FREESTYLE EVENT starting at 9pm. The parade social continues at the CANADIAN TIRE WELCOME CENTRE until midnight.

REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS: Trail Pass or Day Pass Not Required

A PARADE REGISTRATION FORM must be filled out for EACH SNOWMOBILE to count towards the record.

  • All participants 18 years & older ­(both drivers and passengers) must sign a Waiver. 18+ Waiver included on Parade Registration Form.
  • All participants under 18 years old (drivers and passengers) must have a Parent/Guardian sign a Parent Acknowledgment & Release form.

PARKING:
FREE PARKING IN AND AROUND ROTARY PARK. Follow the signs to the CANADIAN TIRE WELCOME CENTRE/ROTARY PARK and volunteers will direct you. There is lots of room for vehicles and large trailers. Ride your snowmobile from the parking lot to the CANADIAN TIRE WELCOME CENTRE for parade staging. Download the Parade Map for designated parking lot locations.

FOOD & BEVERAGE SERVICE:
Available for purchase. Pizza, coffee, tea, hot chocolate and pop available during registration prior to the parade from 3pm to 6pm and following the parade. Liquor service will be available after the parade from 8:30pm to midnight.

FREESTYLE SHOW BY OCTANE ADDICTIONS

Octane Addictions is bringing one of the biggest and sickest freestyle aerial stunt shows to Whitecourt. Extreme riders will entertain with a spectacular series of tricks, kicks, back-flips and more on snowmobiles.

FREE with a donation to the Food Bank

VENUE:
Downtown Whitecourt at the intersection of 51 Avenue/50 Street. Just 1 block south from the CANADIAN TIRE WELCOME CENTRE. Standing only – no public bleachers

Gates Open: 8:30pm

PARKING:
Single vehicle parking downtown except for 51 Avenue/50 Street and no parking on 51 Street. If you’re parked for the parade, it’s a short walk from the CANADIAN TIRE WELCOME CENTRE.
