ANNUAL FAMILY SNOWMOBILE RALLY - FEBRUARY 16-18, 2018

Trail update

Nov30

Keeping you informed

Summit trail and Goodwin lake trail has had all the creeks filled in by the groomer. Grooming should start in that section next week sometime.

There seems to be a few reports of tree’s down on the trails, this is due mostly to the heavy snowfall we have had. If your out riding carry a small folding saw and trim back any branches that you see. We will be organizing a group to go out with chainsaws and clear the trail where a couple bigger trees have fallen since we trail cleaned two weeks ago.

Be safe out there do not cross any open water and be careful when crossing creeks and ponds as they may not be completely frozen yet!

Trail grooming

Weekly Trail Report for Nov 28/13

LET IT SNOW!!!

The season is off to a great start we have a good amount of snow to start the season. Trails are not groomed yet, we still require a bit more snow and some colder weather before we can start grooming operations.

Eagle river staging area is open and the parking lot has been plowed out.

Extreme Caution is required during early season riding. Swamps, Beaver Dams, Creeks, Lakes, Rivers, are NOT frozen under the snow. It is NOT recommended to cross any wet areas / water ways. Riders should use the entire width of the trail system (from tree line to tree line) in order pack the snow and drive the frost down into the ground in preparation for the upcoming grooming season.

Also note that the Whitecourt Town bylaw which permits sleds to ride from town to the trail system on designated trails does not start till Dec 1st.
